It's Official: Yahoo Is Buying Tumblr, Promises "Not to Screw It Up" After rumors spread during the weekend, it's now official: Yahoo is buying Tumblr.

After rumors spread during the weekend, it’s now official: Yahoo is buying Tumblr. Yahoo has announced the takeover, aptly enough, on Tumblr, explaining that it “promises not to screw it up.” That’s a reference, obviously, to the complete mess it’s made of pretty much every other company it’s ever bought. In that Tumblr post Marissa Mayer explains:

Tumblr is incredibly special and has a great thing going. We will operate Tumblr independently. David Karp will remain CEO. The product roadmap, their team, their wit and irreverence will all remain the same as will their mission to empower creators to make their best work and get it in front of the audience they deserve.

The Mission of A.S.K.

It is our goal to bring to the attention of all Bible believers the importance of self reliance and personal responsibility when approaching Bible themes. It is the sole responsibility of the believer to become educated and to realize precisely what he or she believes. We promote the fact that those beliefs should be able to be communicated to any person asking a question. By encouraging people to examine the original documents for themselves, we help to create a greater comprehension of the source material itself. By having a biblical and historical understanding of the Bible, we can all know and trust God better.

 JESUS THE MEDIATOR

1 Timothy 2:5-7 For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all men — the testimony given in its proper time. And for this purpose I was appointed a herald and an apostle — I am telling the truth, I am not lying — and a teacher of the true faith to the Gentiles. (NIV)

In a culture of competing religious ideas, the gospel of Jesus was, and is, radical. Paul reminded Timothy that God is not one of many gods; there is only one God. All other gods are false; they have no living personality, they are inventions of the human mind and have no substance. The desire to find God is a universal human quest. Paul knew his job. He knew that God had appointed him to tell the Gentiles, people who had no knowledge of the only true God, that Jesus is the only way to be reconciled to Him (John 14:6).

Jesus Christ, God in a human body, is the only mediator between God who is holy, and human beings who are unholy. Ever since people first disobeyed God (Genesis 3:1-7), the human race has been held captive by sin and Satan. When Jesus died, His own life blood was the ransom price to rescue sinners from eternal condemnation. Those who believe in Him are released from their spiritual bondage and receive eternal life (John 3:16-18). Paul urged Timothy to keep proclaiming the same gospel.

The message remains potent today. It shows the only way by which sinners can be set free from guilt and shame as they discover that they have a friend in Jesus and become children of God. If you know Jesus as your friend, then tell somebody else! The message has life-changing and eternity-changing consequences; it is far too important to hide away. Its truth enables people everywhere to burst through religious fog into the sunshine of God’s presence (www.crosscheck.org.uk).

Prayer: Dear God. Thank You for giving me a secure way to come to You, and be forgiven. Thank You that Jesus paid the ransom to set me free from my sin and shame. Forgive me when I have kept this message away from other people, leaving them to be occupied with futile habits instead of encouraging them to come to Jesus. Please help me to see the importance of telling people the truth, and give me the opportunities to do so. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
How satan Stops Our Prayers.

I would like to share with you part of a testimony of a saved person who once served the devil. When I heard him give his testimony it so challenged me I did not want to believe it. I had to fast before the Lord for ten days, asking Him, “Lord, is this true?” It was at that time the Lord began to teach me the things that take place in the spiritual realm when we pray. by John Mulinde, Obsteig (Austria) Nov. 2000

PRAISE GOD!

1 Timothy 1:17 Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honour and glory for ever and ever. Amen. (NIV)

This verse is called a ‘doxology’, which simply means praise to the honour and glory of God, the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. After Paul had described his personal wicked life, violently persecuting the church ( 1 Timothy 1:13-16 ), he contrasts his own past with the glorious unchangeable nature of God. True praise is always objective and descriptive. It focuses on the character qualities of God which are always true, irrespective of whatever our response might be. Praise which arises only from our experience of God is fragile and so affected by our circumstances; but praise which is rooted in the Scriptures’ description of God’s character will remain firm even in the darkest times. God is described as the King. He has all authority and has the right to command everybody and everything. He is also eternal; He has always existed and will have no end. God is immortal; although Jesus died bearing the punishment for our sins, it was impossible for death to keep its hold on Him (Acts 2:24).

God is invisible, although Jesus Christ was made visible for a short time and will be seen on the final day. The story of the church is a story of faith. People of every nationality are united to Christ by believing the gospel and obeying the Word of God, without physically seeing God. He is unique: there is no other God. Our response to this amazing description of God’s nature is to honour Him with our worship and obedience, and glorify Him by drawing attention to His amazing character and wonderful works as described in Scripture. However, the church is often preoccupied with ‘what God has done for me’, rather than who He is; with what we are doing, rather than what He has done. We easily draw attention to what we do, instead of His powerful work in the world. Sinners who value their salvation will say, in the words of John Newton at the end of his life, “My memory is nearly gone, but I remember two things very clearly: that I am a great sinner and that Christ is a great Saviour.”

Prayer: Almighty God. Thank You for this doxology which reminds me of the importance of the Scriptures in defining how I praise You. Forgive me for thinking of You as less than You are, or for limiting my praise to thankfulness when my circumstances are good. Please help me to see You in all Your glorious majesty as I read the Scriptures and help me to take time to meditate on the immense perfection of Your character. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Abide in Christ

“that we may present every person complete in Christ”

Abide in Christ is dedicated to the proclamation of the Good News of Jesus Christ, and making disciples of all nations, teaching them the Word of God to His glory (Philippians 2:9-11; John 14:6; Acts 4:12). Jesus Christ said, “Just as the Father has loved Me, I have also loved you; abide in My love” (John 15:9).

New Life in Christ

The most basic work of the Holy Spirit in a person’s life is the new birth.

All of the powers and wonders of the Christian life are centered on this essential miracle of Christianity. This miracle in the individual soul communicates new life in the individual.

Another Kingdom

Another kingdom is growing stronger as its citizen is working aernestly to do its King’s will, its with real power but different from worldly power.

The Ultimate Victory - The Great Commission, Part 11

Week 11, 2013

The sure word of prophecy reveals that we are heading fast toward the ultimate battle between light and darkness. It is the highest privilege and honor just to live in these times, but we have a much higher purpose than to just endure the times—we are here to participate in the greatest victory since the cross—the ultimate victory of light over darkness.

We see this in such places as Isaiah 60:1-3:

“Arise, shine; for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you.

“For behold, darkness will cover the earth, and deep darkness the peoples; but the Lord will rise upon you, and His glory will appear upon you.

“And nations will come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising.”
